Contractor Management

KnR is assisting contractors around South Africa to be legally compliant with regard to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the 2014 Construction Regulations.

Safety Files

KnR will compile a site specific safety file for a construction project.  The safety file contains all legal documentation, including legal appointments, registers, toolbox talks, etc.  Our consultants will implement the file and explain how to maintain it.  The file needs to be on site at all times.

Safety Plan

KnR will draft a site specific safety plan.  SWP will make sure that the Client approves the plan and will assist the contractor if any changes are required.

Site Inspection

KnR can assist the contractor to achieve legal compliance through visiting the site regularly.   We will do a physical audit where we will advise on physical issues on site and an admin audit where we will assist contractors with maintaining their safety documentation.

OHSAS 18001: 2007 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems

There are two aspects to the field of Occupational Health and Safety. Firstly, is the area of safety which seeks to make workplaces safe for workers so that they do not suffer injuries. Poorly designed and maintained workplaces or equipment may pose serious hazards to workers and more than thousands of injuries occur at workplaces each year. Secondly, apart from the concept of safety is that of occupational health, where the goal is to prevent the occurrence of illnesses among workers due to exposure at their place of work. “The importance of Health in the workplace has now been given greater priority and emphasis under these requirements, so do many other aspects that you may not be aware of, such emphasis is clear in the Construction Regulation – 2014”. Therefore, KnR will strive to train start-ups, small and medium, and the industry at large to support them in the compliance of the Act and its regulations. KnR will bring you up to speed with the ADDED requirements by implementing this within your business.
